Jenny’s Work

Jenny Muncaster: Artist

Jenny Muncaster graduated from Winchester School of Art in 1988, and now works from ‘The Colour Factory’ – an artists’ studio and gallery she founded in 1994 which features a gallery and a purpose-built educational workshop, as well as studios for seven artists.

Her paintings possess a naïve charm which is both quirky and colourful, imbuing a sense of joie de vivre with an illustrative approach. Working primarily on canvas or gesso board in acrylic and mixed media she combines colour, technique and materials to produce vibrant, energetic, lively paintings. Her work encompasses a wide collection of subjects from detailed street scenes to sweeping landscapes , but Jenny is a self-confessed foodie at heart. Her favourite subject matter is still life: from special bottles of wine to favourite ingredients for the preparation of wonderful dishes.

Jenny’s paintings are exhibited and sold in galleries throughout the UK including the Saatchi Gallery, London. Commissions for her highly individual food and wine themed paintings can be seen all over the world. Large food paintings, for example, have been commissioned extensively by chef Raymond Blanc. Inspired by recipes handed down to Raymond by his mother, the finished artworks with all their colour and texture describe the beauty of food with a lot of passion and a pinch of humour.

Some of the world’s most famous hotels, including The Four Seasons in Bahrain, Intercontinental Hotels, Royal Caribbean and The Shard London feature on her client list.

Her reputation, talent for communication and contagious enthusiasm hasn’t escaped the notice of television, and she is currently filming an exciting new 12-part TV series entitled ‘The Artist In You’. Each episode features a different and highly engaging project where Jenny helps people rediscover the sheer pleasure and satisfaction of creating a piece of artwork, using locations from Exmoor to the Kent Coast, as well as her beloved Winchester.

Jenny says “This is one of the most exciting and original projects I’ve worked on, presenting a whole range of wonderful and highly ‘doable’ art that anyone can tackle. I’m out to prove that everybody has an artist in them, and that you are limited only by your imagination!”
